Sergio Pérez's first rodeo for »Red Bull Racing Honda« in Texas
Sergio Pérez took to the streets of Dallas in the title-winning »RB7« for his first »Red Bull Racing Honda«-show run to give fans a thrilling taste of what they can expect at the »United States Grand Prix« in Austin on October 24. Here is all you need to know …
After the »RB7« visited New York City for a trip around Manhattan and the Wall Street district in early October, »Red Bull Racing Honda« moved down to Texas for its next show run.
This time, it was Mexican driver Pérez who got behind the wheel of the iconic »RB7« car to give fans a treat fresh off the back of his third place behind teammate Max Verstappen at the Turkish Grand Prix.
The 31-year-old proved everything is bigger in Texas as he piloted the RB7 in multiple runs through the twists and turns of Harwood District including a performance by stunt bike star Aaron Colton.
It was the first public show run for »Red Bull Racing Honda« in two years with Pérez keen next to help his team bridge the gap to Mercedes in the 2021 »Formula One World Championship« team standings this week.
The former British Formula 3 champion is also looking to move up from fifth in the current driver standings with a contract for 2022 already assured heading into the final six races of the season.
He revealed: »Today was very special, I really enjoyed it. It was the first time doing donuts in the Red Bull car—which was a lot of fun—and it was definitely a day that none of us will forget soon. I always love visiting the US, I could feel the energy from the crowd and it was amazing to see the smiles on people's faces. Thank you to all of the fans for the support today, it's made me even more excited to race next weekend in Austin—hopefully we can make it another double podium.«
